We’re Better than OK with TOK

Junior Students at Chadwick International Finish Their TOK Exhibition Commentaries

Chadwick International, an esteemed IB school, recently witnessed (May 2nd 2023) its junior students engage in the thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating task of completing their TOK (Theory of Knowledge) Exhibition Commentary. This crucial component of the IB curriculum encourages students to critically analyze and reflect upon the knowledge they have acquired. We caught up with two juniors, Yoon L. and Daniel H., to hear about their experiences, the objects they chose, and their expectations for their scores. 

Yoon L.’s TOK Journey: 

Yoon L., a grade 11 student, expressed a moderate level of confidence in his TOK Exhibition Commentary. When asked about his three chosen objects, Yoon listed the following: the Apartment Kiosk, Piano Music Sheet, and Econ Text Book. The diversity of these objects reflects Yoon’s broad range of interests and areas of knowledge. He is eager to delve into the interconnectedness of these objects and the TOK concepts surrounding them. Yoon is optimistic about his performance and hopes to secure a solid 7 out of 10, reflecting his diligence and understanding of the TOK principles. 

Daniel H.’s Dedication: 

Daniel H., another grade 11 student, displayed a determined attitude towards his TOK Exhibition Commentary. Having given his best effort, Daniel hopes that his hard work will pay off. His selected objects include his Guitar, Dictionary, and Specs (presumably eyeglasses). Through these items, Daniel aims to explore the intricate relationship between art, language, and perception. With his meticulous approach and dedication, Daniel anticipates achieving a solid score of 8 out of 10. 

As the deadline for the TOK Exhibition Commentary passes, students like Yoon L. and Daniel H. at Chadwick International eagerly await their scores. These individuals have poured their intellectual curiosity and creativity into their commentaries, aiming for high marks. The TOK Exhibition Commentary is a testament to the students’ ability to engage in interdisciplinary thinking and demonstrate their understanding of the Theory of Knowledge.
